DLP™ is carbon free! IBC’s Direct Lithium to Product® (DLP™) process was recently evaluated by a third party for carbon emissions. Key findings include:
0️⃣The DLP™ process itself emits zero carbon dioxide equivalents (CO2e).
🏭CO2e emissions come only from indirect emissions (purchased electricity) and upstream reagent emissions.
⚡With carbon reduction measures, such as purchasing energy preferentially through renewable sources, CO2e emissions from energy are 0.56 kg CO2e/kg Lithium Hydroxide Monohydrate (LHM).
🧪Upstream reagent emissions are 0.79 kg CO2e/kg LHM.
🌱 Thus, CO2e emissions can be decreased to 1.35 kg/kg LHM, which is 44%-73% lower than reported DLE processes.
